After Samantha and Tommy met at Northern Arizona University, a very persistent Tommy eventually won over Samantha’s heart. After dating long distance for a time and eventually moving in together, Tommy asked Samantha to be his wife during a weekend getaway to Flagstaff… “We brought our two pups with us. We went on a hike in the neighborhood behind his old apartment complex and he popped the question on this beautiful lookout area over the hiking trail. He had a speech memorized but I don’t remember a single word because I was crying too much to comprehend a single word… all I knew was I was saying yes!!! I saw the box in his pocket the whole way but he denies that I knew anything about it, of course!”
Samantha says she knew Tommy was the one over the course of several big events in their relationship, but the first milestone was celebrating their college graduation together with their immediate families. Their families got along well and they shared funny awkward stories about each other and stayed up too late laughing together. She says, “I knew I loved him then.” And now, flash forward to their perfectly intimate wedding day where they got to profess their love for each other in front of all their gathered friends and family.
Samantha and Tommy exchanged their vows at Shadow Rock United Church of Christ, which has the most beautiful sanctuary with views overlooking the Phoenix Mountain Preserves. Of course, I was super giddy about the surrounding desert landscape and getting to capture these two love birds among the desert pastel colors. I also loved Samantha’s choice for pops of color in her bridal florals. Her bouquet’s color palette was absolutely stunning against the desert backdrop, especially when paired with her chic, geometric Hayley Paige wedding gown. After the ceremony, the new Husband and Wife exited the church with a streamer send off that was so much fun!
Everyone then headed to Pitch in Scottsdale, which offered the perfect intimate setting for newlyweds and their guests. There was an indoor-outdoor feel to the reception space that was complemented by twinkling lights and garden florals throughout. The evening was marked by thoughtful toasts and sweet moments, all the while Samantha and Tommy were perfectly intertwined as the new Husband and Wife enjoyed the celebration.
Samantha & Tommy: Thank you guys for being the sweetest! We have adored our time working with you guys and we’re sad it’s coming to the end! We sincerely wish you guys a lifetime of happiness together and we’re incredibly thankful that we got to meet you both and be a part of such a special wedding day!
