Superstition Mountain AZ Engagement Session | Sarah Beth & Nick
Sarah Beth and Nick met as co-workers at Arizona State University. They started out as friends and got closer after a last minute road trip to Zion with some friends. Sarah Beth says, “We drove all through the night, taking shifts driving, and I stayed up with him because he had the last shift (must have been 3:00am!) We started really talking while our friends were asleep in the backseat and that’s when I knew I was interested.” Fast forward to their proposal, Nick planned it as a surprise at Horseshoe Bend in northern Arizona, the perfect spot for these two who love to travel and explore the outdoors. Sarah Beth recalled Nick acting nervous as they walked along the scenery, and she thought, we’re not that high up, we’ll be okay! Haha! She had no idea that he was about to propose! Nick had some friends in on the whole thing to capture it with photos and videos!
For their engagement session, we ventured to the Lost Dutchman area at the base of Superstition Mountain. This is one of my favorite desert spots to shoot at for its’ cactus and beautiful views, so I was thrilled when Sarah Beth said they were wanting to do them there! Of course, these two have hiked all over the area, but it was different to return all dressed up. 🙂
The beginning of our session was pretty hot, but as the sun dropped the temperature cooled and we were treated to beautiful sunset lighting. I think my favorite thing about this session is Sarah Beth’s smile. It’s absolutely beautiful, honest, and contagious! I love it! Sarah Beth is originally from Jackson Mississippi, so we’ll be traveling there in the Spring to photograph these two become husband & wife, and we cannot wait!! In the meantime, check out my favorites below…. 🙂
