Trying to be a Morning Person

Don’t laugh at the title of this blog post. I’m serious. I’m really trying. The thing about me.. Is that I always feel better when I FORCE myself to be a morning person. But gosh, I just wish it came naturally to me. It totally doesn’t.

I don’t know if any of you have seen Zootopia. Well I have, like a million times because I’m a child. There’s a part where Judy Hopps has just moved to Zootopia and she’ll be starting her new job as a police officer. Her alarm goes off, and she basically jumps out of bed in a joyful  burst of energy and is ready to take on the day. I literally cry inside every time I watch this part because I’m the exact opposite of Judy Hopps. I’m totally that person that has like 10 back up alarms and even when I get up after the 10th, I still feel like death. Haha! BUTTT this is one of those areas I’ve really been wanting to work on because I know the power of a productive morning and the positivity that can flow from a great morning routine. So this summer I am taking the initiative and I’m trying to be a morning person.

Here are a few of the things I’ll be implementing in my journey to morning person-ness. Haha!

  1. 1. Get in bed by 9pm
  2. 2. Wake up at 7am (I can do it!!!)
  3. 3. Eat a good breakfast
  4. 4. Devotional and Prayer time
  5. 5. Map out my daily goals and to-do’s
  6. 6. Yoga

I know this might not seem like a big deal. But for me, it’s HUGE. I thrive when I have routines and structure, which is difficult as a business owner who works from home. So I’m definitely excited to try to create a routine to stick to where I can have a productive morning and start to my day!
