Phoenix AZ Church Wedding | Brittany & Anthony
Brittany and Anthony got married one week ago today at the beautiful Saints Simon and Jude Cathedral, and celebrated afterwards at Heritage Square in downtown Phoenix. You might remember these two as the ones who met in eighth grade- no I’m not joking, they are seriously that cute! When I asked what they envisioned for their wedding day, they said “our families coming together to build a strong bond with one another.. making new memories with everyone attending.” I love that response! It perfectly shows how important family and friends are to Brittany and Anthony– something that was so evident throughout their wedding day. As a couple, Brittany is shy and quiet, and Anthony is the perfect balance to pull her out of her shell. Together, they are incredibly sweet and always seem to think of others first. I loved photographing their engagement session in Sedona this fall, and was super excited to see them again for their wedding day.
When we arrived to the church for their wedding, everyone was hustling to finish getting ready and finalize details. We had just enough time to photograph some beautiful details (like Brittany’s shoes.. omg I was in heaven) and capture the end of the Bride getting ready. Before we knew it, the church bells were ringing and Brittany was walking down the aisle to her best friend and soon-to-be husband. I love the tradition that encapsulates Catholic wedding ceremonies. There is something to be said about how highly marriage is valued, and John and I loved getting to capture such important moments. After sharing their first kiss and walking down the aisle as husband and wife, we headed to Heritage square for photos. We decided to do their photos against the backdrop of the Arizona Science Center. Since the bridesmaids rocked red dresses, it was the perfect backdrop for photos with its plain cement walls. The color really popped!
After bridal party photos, we spent some time with Brittany and Anthony, capturing the two of them together. Brittany looked absolutely stunning, and I was seriously swooning over her veil all day! After the grand entrance and some time with their guests, we stole the Bride and Groom out for one last time as the sun was setting. I loved taking photos of them together along the streets of the city. We had people honking and congratulating them the whole time! One kind stranger even handed them some cash for their wedding- it was seriously so funny! Haha! 🙂 When the sun dipped behind the buildings we headed back to their reception for their first dance as husband and wife. The rest of the night was a whirlwind of dancing and fun, and we had just enough time to squeeze in a sparkler exit for the new Mr. and Mrs. Make sure to check out all my favorites below!
Brittany & Anthony: I am sooooo glad John and I met you both and got to be a part of your wedding day. After getting to know you guys, it’s so evident that you’re heading into marriage with such a great foundation in your friendship together. I’m so happy for you both! Congratulations! 🙂
